Jemez Principles and Grassroots Organizing Training (Capacity Building Series)

Are you ready to deepen your understanding of equitable grassroots organizing and strengthen your movement work? In this session, Stephanie Bowman (Mother’s Out Front) and DeAngelus Garcia Bey (Arthaus Moor) will explore how these guiding principles—created to ensure fairness, inclusion, and collaboration in organizing—show up in our work and community-building efforts.

Through engaging discussion and interactive activities, participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Jemez Principles and their significance in grassroots movements.

  • Explore common barriers to applying these principles and discover antidotes to overcome them.

  • Participate in a fun, hands-on activity with real-world scenarios to help identify which Jemez Principles directly counteract traits of White Supremacy Culture and build more inclusive and equitable organizing spaces.
