MIDWEST BDC’s RESOURCES HUB
The Midwest BDC Data Center Resource Hub is one of the foundational pillars of our Midwestern Data Center Justice Design Lab
— a space designed to help organizers, advocates, and community leaders build shared power around data center development across the region.
This Hub emerged directly from member demand. Our coalition has gathered an enormous amount of material over the past several years: research from allies, technical explainers from partners, community‑generated tools, funder reports, and internal MWBDC resources. But they were scattered across inboxes, Slack threads, webinars, and shared drives. Members asked for one place where everything could live together, clearly organized and easy to navigate.
Why this Hub matters
Movement-wide organization: The Lab’s goal is to make complex data center information accessible. The Hub is the Lab’s library—curated, structured, and searchable.
Collective intelligence: By pulling in resources from allies, members, partners, and funders, the Hub reflects the full ecosystem of knowledge shaping Midwestern data center justice work.
Gap identification: One of the Lab’s core functions is spotting what the movement doesn’t yet have. The Hub helps us see missing tools, missing guidance, and missing supports—so MWBDC can step in and build what communities need next.
Strategic alignment: The Hub ensures that every new resource created through the Justice Design Lab is grounded in what already exists and intentionally fills gaps rather than duplicating work.
