Canva Basics: Digital Design for Climate Justice 101

Canva 101 : Digital Design for Climate Justice

This introductory training is the official entrypoint into our Canva 101 learning cohort — a welcoming, hands‑on start for anyone stepping into climate justice communications.

In this kickoff session, participants will learn the core fundamentals of Canva, including layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.

We’ll explore how thoughtful design can strengthen movement narratives, support local campaigns, and make complex decarbonization concepts easier to communicate.

  • As the first step in the cohort, this session also covers how to set brand colors, build simple templates, and use basic saving methods for different platforms and formats — giving you the confidence to create clean, consistent visuals for your organization or campaign.

  • We’ll introduce Canva’s presentation tools and walk through how to record directly inside the deck feature to support trainings, briefings, and community education.

No prior design experience needed; just curiosity and a desire to create.

This kickoff training is part one of our two‑part Canva 101 series.

After completing this session, you’ll be invited into our members‑only Canva Cohort — a collaborative design space with feedback coaches, shared image and resource libraries, and ongoing support to help you develop movement‑aligned visuals with confidence.
